Introduction To Wheel- (Starting Jan. 9th) Sundays- 6:00-8:30pm

During this course you'll learn the throwing process from start to finish. I will teach you how to throw on the wheel, basic trimming techniques, and glaze application. This course is great for beginners with no experience.

Intermediate Wheel- (Starting Jan. 11th) Tuesdays- 6:00-8:30pm

Have you already take the wheel for a spin and want to refine your throwing, trimming and glazing skills?! Get right back on the wheel and start where you left off. This course is great for individuals who have taken a minimum of two intro courses at Merritt Ceramics or another ceramic studio. (See my class equivalency guide)

 

Course includes: clay & firing | tools & materials | glazes | open studio hours at Merritt Ceramics.

Offered Through Wheelhouse Clay Studio

A 6-week course that will kickstart your pottery addiction! You will learn the art of creating on the pottery wheel and the enchanting process of how clay turns into ceramic from start to finish. Learn how to throw, trim, glaze and so much more! Throwing is a meditative process that requires you to be fully present while enjoying the act of tactile making. Experience the clay magic first hand!

 

Comes with all you need to create with clay and Student Open Studio hours at Wheelhouse Clay Studio to practice! Please follow the link below for more important information. =)

 

Release Date: Current Students- Saturday, 12/4 @ 11am

Public Open Enrollment- Saturday, 12/11 @ 11am


Intermediate Wheel- (Starting Jan. 6th) Thursdays- 6:00-9:00pm

In this 6 week class you will take your throwing skills to the next level:

• focus on honing in your centering and throwing skills

• learn to shape tall cylinders, plates, vases

• Lidded Jars

 

Class includes all materials and fees. - extra clay may be purchased at the studio. Students enjoy open studio access at Pinckney's Clay Studio every Saturday and Sunday for the first 5 weeks. The last class is a glazing party. We love safety and have invested in fancy air purifiers, masks are required (please no valve masks.) We have developed new systems for keeping people safe. Intro to Clay is a six week course designed for those with little to no experience, but is open to all levels. Learn and try a variety of clay techniques, including the basics of hand-building and throwing.

  • Week 1: Ceramic Studio Etiquette and Safety
  • Week 2: Trimming
  • Week 3: Hand building Techniques
  • Week 4: Texture & Glazing
  • Week 5: Work day
  • Week 6: Work day

Course includes:

25lbs of clay | 6-weeks of 2.5 hours of instruction | Firing fees |

Unlimited open studio during daytime business hours at Clayroom Potrero.
