Intermediate Wheel 2- Jan./Feb. 2024 Session
The officially unofficial syllabus for Intermediate Wheel 2 at Merritt Ceramics.
The session occurs from January 9th to February 13th 2024.

Week 1 (1/9) - Consistency Practice
Making 8 Cylinders using various methods to keep things consistent. Encouragement to cut the inconsistent cylinders.

Week 2 (1/16) - Large Bowls
The difference between U-bowls and V-bowls. Tips for throwing 4+ pounds of clay.

Week 3 (1/23) - Tall Forms
Practicing 4+ pounds of clay in a vertical direction. Can demo Vase or Pitcher making upon request.

Week 4 (1/30) - Lidded Forms Pt.1
Showing the difference between flange and gallery lid systems. Opportunity to show parts of the teapot if requested.

Week 5 (2/6) - Trimfest/ Pt. 2
Lid finishing- throwing on to leatherhard work. Teapot finishing or Slip Decor Techniques- trailing and transfers.

Week 6 (2/13) - Glaze Potluck Party
How to apply glaze to large scale work, inside/out glazing review and tips, test tile importance.
